Columbia Borough Police Log

Tombstone Terrorists: On 8-11-2009 at 12:224am The Columbia Borough Police responded to the Holy Trinity Cemetery entrance in the 600 block of S. Ninth Street in Columbia Borough. Cemetery Caretaker Gerald Fisher had summoned police to report damage to multiple tombstones and graves markers located in the cemetery.

On arrival police discovered approximately 45-50 tombstones and grave markers that were either partially or completely destroyed. Multiple stones were toppled, while others had large decorative crucifixes and other decorative pieces broken from the main stone structure.

Fischer, and the police were able to determine the damage occurred during the night hours from 8-10-2009 into 8-11-2009. At this point no one has come forward.

The Columbia Police strongly urge any witnesses to come forward and contact Officer Matthew Leddy at 717-684-7735. Also anyone who notices anyone entering cemeteries after dark are reminded to contact police immediately

Disorderly Conduct:  Paul H. Staffer, age 23 of Columbia and Michael J. Medroa, age 36 of Columbia were cited for disorderly conduct at 3rd and union streets on July 11th., 2009.

Criminal Trespass: Ashley Marie Haldeman, age 23, of Columbia was cited for criminal trespass at Columbia Borough River Park on July 23rd, 2009.

Brady Alan Traversie, age 41 of Columbia was cited for operation of vehicle without official certification of inspection on August 3rd, 2009.

Chad L. Eller, age 33 of Columbia was cited for operation following suspension of registration on August 5th, 209.

James Edward Morrissey, age 27 of Columbia was cited for open Malt in public on August 4th, 2009.

Brandon M. Wright, age 18 of Columbia was cited for purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of Liquor or Malt beverages and for public drunkenness’s on August 4th, 2009.

James Paul Shickley Jr, age 18 of Columbia was cited for disorderly conduct and for purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt beverage on August 6th, 2009.
